Epic Biolase dental laser is nowadays one of the most advanced and appreciated dental lasers in the world.
BIOLASE laser is an advanced dental laser that offers power and versatility, is portable, with a small size, but with maximum performances, with a minimum time spent by the patient on the chair and with predictable results.
The benefits of using the Epic Biolase laser in dental treatments
-
Local action
-
Minimally invasive and conservative
-
Predictability of the treatment
-
Use in dental esthetics
-
Shortening the time spent by the patient on the chair
-
Increased comfort for the patient (treatment in compliance)
-
Decontamination of bacteria in the working field (in case of dental implant interventions or of the canal filling)
-
Much faster results of the treatments, even after 20 minutes of use (e.g. teeth whitening procedure)
-
Removing the pain and of the swellings after a surgical procedure
-
Reduces the overheating of the surrounding tissue causing discomfort to the patient
-
Versatility – can be used to treat many types of conditions.
1. Sanitation package with laser decontamination
Laser decontamination is a simple procedure and it takes only a few minutes. It’s recommended because it contributes to the reduction of the number of bacteria present in the oral cavity. It’s an important part of the process of maintaining oral health. Any condition (especially periodontal), detected at an early stage and treated as soon as possible, allows you to keep your teeth on the arch for a long time.
The bacterial reduction (or the laser contamination) is the first stage of treating the periodontal disease. The laser has an energy emission that selectively vaporizes only bacteria, and its properties allow it to perform an optimal sterilization.
2. Epic Biolase laser teeth whitening
The laser whitening procedure is extremely simple and uses a whitening gel based on hydrogen peroxide activated by the laser. The results are amazing. The whole procedure is simple and extremely comfortable for the patient, being at the same time safe and fast. Epic from Biolase is considered one of the best medical devices, developed especially for dental practices.
The benefits of laser teeth whitening?
-
Shortens treatment time (average time being 20 minutes)
-
It’s the most efficient minimally invasive solution available on the market
-
Performs the teeth whitening up to 10 nuances
-
The effects last longer if the rules of oral hygiene are followed
-
Avoid excess heat, which means comfort, safety and increased confidence for the patient.
It’s mandatory to consult a dentist before the teeth whitening.
3. Laser biostimulation
Laser biostimulation has been used in medicine since the '80, and in dentistry it’s used to accelerate the healing of the affected tissues during various treatments and to reduce pain.
Dentistry, unfortunately, is associated with pain, inflammation and edema (swelling). But due to the function of laser biostimulation, all these inconveniences can be forgotten by the patients.
Biostimulation is the treatment by the means of which the light energy produced by LASER, produces a biologic response. At the cellular level, it increases the metabolism, stimulating the increasing of cellular ATP (cellular fuel), facilitating the collagen synthesis, lymphatic drainage (reduces the edema/swelling), has anti-inflammatory effect by decreasing the histamine synthesis and also increases local endorphin production. All these have the effect of increasing the local metabolism, normalizing the cellular function and accelerating the tissue healing.
Biostimulation can be used in:
-
Oral mucositis
-
Sinusitis
-
ATM disfunctions (disfunctions of the temporo-mandibular joint)
-
Paresthesia
-
Trigeminal neuralgia
-
Post-extraction
-
Implantology
-
Orthodontics
-
Endodontics
-
Periodontology
-
Dentinal hypersensitivity
4. Treatment of herpes mouth sores/canker sores
The application of the laser on the herpes vesicles helps to reduce the intensity of the specific pain and healing is made in a few days.
It’s important that this treatment to be applied in the initial stage of the herpes rush, so that the healing is done faster and the chances of recurrences decrease. The studies have shown that the recurrence with Herpes Simplex Virus 1 can be treated with laser in the silent stage of the disease. The application of the laser on the canker sores, especially in the early stages, helps to reduce pain and can prevent their occurrence in the area.
5. Laser gingivectomy
Gingivectomy and ginginvoplasty are two procedures that in the classic treatment options, required anesthesia and a scalpel. The dental laser allows their accomplishment without anesthesia in most of the cases, or only with anesthetic spray/gel, without bleeding, without pain, with fast post-intervention recovery. Both involve reshaping of the gum by cutting the tissue to normal size.
The procedure is indicated when the gingival tissue grows above the dental crowns, requiring laser surgical correction, having as result an optimal gingival contour.
